The Winery

Passion, knowledge and tradition.

«BOULIOU BROS. – CHR. THOLOULLIS» - «WINERY GAZORITIS» company achieved legal status in 2006,in Gazoros Serres. The winery is housed in a renovated 20th century grain warehouse building next to the local train station. «Gazoritis Winery» has been a result of the passion for quality wine, of the brothers John and Sotiris Boulios and friend Christos Tholoulis and has been functioning as a continuance of the local vineyard – winemaking tradition of the area as it arises from local history. The tradition and knowledge of the founding families of our winery, since 1955 in vineyards and winemaking, was passed on and evolved through time, creating today, with the aid of modern technology, excellent wines. Love of wine, methodical work, commitment and investment in high quality standards along with the continuing quest for perfection has created the wines you can now taste and promises the production of new, excellent wines, in the future. In 2019 the company went through a strategic rebranding in order to achieve better market placement abroad. The Oenogea brand was created for that purpose. “Gazoritis Winery” thus becomes “Oenogea Winery”; “Oenogea”, from Greek “Οίνος” (wine) and “γαία” (earth/land), the land of wine. A composite, yet “transparent” word, comprehensible to the many foreign wine lovers that appreciate our products. A new brand to communicate the continuous wine-making activity of this place and its people.

Hoping that this transition will not create any confusion, with our guarantee that you shall always relish unique wines, we move into a new era!!

The Vineyard

Vines, soil, people; all under the sun.

Our vineyard consists of selected plots spanning approximately 20 acres. The gravelly-sandy soils accommodate vines of international and local varieties, trained in a classic Royat double cord and pruned strictly in order to maintain foliage growth and fruit production balance. Achieving this balance leads to the production of excellent grapes.
Soil composition in combination with the local microclimate, characterised by hot days and cool nights during summer, contributes to the excellent quality and distinct character of our wines.
